Command Mode
Command Mode is Talkuza's voice-control layer: instead of dictating text, you say what should happen — and it happens. It's powered by Canto.
Turn it on
- Open Talkuza → Settings → Experimental → Command Mode → On.
- Hold Fn and say a command (see the cheat-sheet below), or say “command mode” to switch between dictating and commanding.
- Command Mode is off by default — dictation is the default, so you never trigger actions by accident.
Cheat-sheet
| Say | Talkuza does |
|---|---|
| “Open <app>” | Opens the named Mac app (e.g. “Open Notes”). |
| “Start / stop dictation” | Toggles listening without touching the Fn key. |
| “New note / quick note” | Opens the scratchpad for a fast capture. |
| “Summarise this meeting” | Asks Echo Notes for a summary of the current recording. |
| “Draft a reply to <name>” | Drafts a reply using the selected conversation or note. |
| “Start focus for 25 minutes” | Starts a focus timer and silences notifications. |
| “Copy that / paste that” | Copies the last dictation, or pastes it at the cursor. |
| “Undo that” | Undoes the last inserted dictation. |
Tips
- Speak naturally — “open my meeting notes” works as well as “open notes”.
- If Talkuza mishears a command, it shows what it heard so you can correct it once and it learns.
- Commands never run while you're mid-dictation; finish the sentence first.
