Talkuza for Mac

Hotkeys

Talkuza is built to be driven from the keyboard. These are the defaults — every one of them can be changed in Settings → General → Shortcuts.

Default shortcuts

FnHold to dictate (default). Release to stop.
FnFnDouble-tap Fn to toggle dictation on/off.
⌘ShiftDToggle the Talkuza pile / quick panel.
⌘ShiftNNew quick note.
⌃SpaceSwitch between dictation and Command Mode.
⌘,Open Talkuza Settings.
EscCancel the current dictation.

The Fn key

On most Mac keyboards, Fn is the bottom-left key (on some keyboards it's labelled with a globe ). If holding Fn does nothing, check System Settings → Keyboard: “Press Fn key to” should be set to Show Emoji & Symbols or Do Nothing — if it's set to Dictation, macOS steals the key before Talkuza sees it.

Fixing a conflict

  1. Open Talkuza → Settings → General → Shortcuts.
  2. Click the shortcut that conflicts — Talkuza shows what else uses it.
  3. Press your new key combination, then Done. Conflicts are warned about, never silently overwritten.
